The RISE Program

Empowering Students with Unique Learning Needs

King’s Academy’s RiSE Program serves students with mild to moderate learning differences—including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and other cognitive challenges—through a warm, individualized, Christ-centered approach. Our school serves neurotypical students in general education classes, while students with learning differences are placed either in general education classrooms or in specialized RiSE classes, depending on their individual needs. Experienced teachers provide targeted instruction, structured support, and a nurturing environment where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We focus on each child’s strengths, celebrate progress, and help students build the confidence and skills they need to thrive. Every learner is created by God with purpose—and in RiSE, they discover what they are truly capable of.

Supporting Students on the Autism Spectrum

Many autistic students thrive when they have clear routines, predictable transitions, and calm, structured classrooms—and King’s Academy is intentionally designed with those needs in mind. Our teachers understand sensory sensitivities and offer quiet spaces, visual schedules, reduced distractions, and sensory tools that help students stay regulated and focused. We support social development through guided peer interactions, explicit teaching of social cues, and opportunities for collaborative play and problem-solving. Academically, we break down tasks into manageable steps, provide concrete instructions, visual supports, and multi-modal teaching, and celebrate progress rather than comparison. Above all, we offer a gentle, Christ-centered environment where autistic students are understood, valued, and encouraged to grow in confidence, independence, and joy.

Thriving with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, & Dyscalculia

Students with learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia often face challenges in reading, writing, spelling, math, or processing information. At King’s Academy, we provide structured, multisensory instruction tailored to each child’s needs. Students with dyslexia receive support with reading and decoding, those with dysgraphia are guided in handwriting, spelling, and written expression, and students with dyscalculia receive targeted help with math concepts, computation, and problem-solving strategies. Our small class sizes allow teachers to offer individualized attention, step-by-step guidance, and repeated practice, while also fostering confidence, self-advocacy, and a love of learning. In our Christ-centered environment, students with learning differences are valued for their unique strengths and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and spiritually at a pace that honors their God-given potential.

Guiding Students with Attention Differences

Students with ADHD or ADD often face challenges with attention, focus, organization, and self-regulation. While some students may be hyperactive or impulsive, others with ADD are primarily inattentive, quietly struggling to stay on task or complete assignments. At King’s Academy, we provide a structured and predictable learning environment that helps all students stay engaged. Teachers use clear instructions, visual schedules, task breakdowns, and regular check-ins, while incorporating movement breaks and hands-on activities for those who benefit from them. We also focus on executive function skills, self-monitoring, and strategies for maintaining focus, helping students build independence and confidence. In our Christ-centered community, students with ADHD or ADD are supported academically, socially, and spiritually, developing both skills and character as they grow into their God-given potential.
